Polyphasic sleep refers to the practice of sleeping in multiple shorter sleep sessions within a 24-hour period rather than taking a single night sleep. It does not entail any particular schedule for sleeping. Polyphasic sleep is seen in babies, elderly and other animals.
It is more advisable, practical and healthy to sleep at night as best as we can and then take short naps as needed.

One of the essential things parents should buy for their baby is a crib mattress. Since babies spend most of their time sleeping in the crib, it is very important to choose a safe and comfortable mattress you could afford. There are four basic factors to consider when purchasing a crib mattress – the size, firmness, cover and the cost.
Mattress Size
Choose the right size of the mattress. Small mattress leaves space between the mattress and the crib walls that could compromise baby’s safety.
Firmness
Because babies cannot move themselves out of positions, they need a reasonably firm mattress to avoid suffocation or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The mattress should immediately snap back when pressed.
Mattress Cover
Babies have very sensitive skin and it would be wise to check the cover to ensure that it is hypoallergenic and was not treated with strong chemicals.
Cost
Price does not necessarily assure that the mattress is of good quality. Parents do not have to spend lavishly to acquire a mattress of good quality. One imperative way to verify for good quality is to check for the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, Inc. or JPMA Certification Seal on the product.

It’s a new year once again. Whatever resolutions we make each year, these more often relate to how we think out to bring in a positive change and make our life better. This year, it would be a compassionate resolution to start green living. Let us Go Green this year! A small positive change at home could be a great start for a healthy living and we could start-off with our area rugs. We could make a big transformation to our home by improving its indoor air quality. Area rugs, if not eco-friendly, worsens the indoor air and could cause harmful effects on our health. Going for eco-friendly area rugs is very essential for good health. Naturally processed Jute Rugs and Bamboo Rugs are eco-friendly area rugs that are most recommended for a healthy home.
Why Jute Rugs and Bamboo Rugs are Eco-Friendly?
According to the Wikipedia, Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fiber that can be spun into coarse, strong threads. It is one of the most affordable natural fibers and comes second to cotton in production and variation of uses for vegetable fibers.
Bamboo has natural antibacterial and antifungal qualities that help the plant fight off disease and insects. These properties come from a naturally occurring substance in bamboo called Kun. These qualities are not lost during processing or washing thus bamboo fabrics are able to retain these qualities and do not hold odors like some fabrics do.
Our health, our home’s health, and our family’s health are very important. To that end, Going Green is not an alternative anymore. Green goals are excellent and, if you’re new to green living, a great start is creating a healthy home by using eco-friendly Jute Rugs and Bamboo Rugs. Go Green and live healthy.
